COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS: During Stage II of California's Resilience Roadmap response to the virus, I am providing HIPPA-compliant confidential online psychotherapy through a practice software web portal. I also have limited availability for onsite sessions in my office in Silver Lake with mandatory precautionary measures in place.
Knowing that we need change can be overwhelming; it can also be liberating. Whatever you are feeling at this moment, if you are here you've probably decided that something needs to shift. By simply noticing what is happening in your life and deciding that you'd like to see yourself living differently, you are on your way.
The process of therapy is part science and part art. The science of therapy provides us with data that tells us which therapeutic strategies work best for specific problems. For me, knowing the science is crucial; using it, however, is an art.
The art of therapy starts with the cumulative life experiences of the therapist. Life experiential knowledge is crucial in finding a good therapist and should not be discounted when you've decided to begin treatment. A therapist should also be kind, empathic, humorous, direct, open, honest and extremely knowledgeable. A good therapist works in the place where Science and Art collide. This is where I reside when working with clients. This is where therapy can be the most productive and meaningful. We work together, side-by-side, to explore and find insight and awareness. But I will also encourage you to go further. We will work toward tangible, measurable change in your life. I look forward to meeting you in this place and taking the journey of therapy together.
If you would like to chat for a few minutes to see if we may be a good fit, feel free to call me, request an appointment on the tab below, or email me. On this page and the following pages, I offer information on the kinds of life challenges I treat, my approach to treatment, and why you should pick a therapist who helps you feel supported and heard. If we decide that I may not be the best fit for you, I will work to get you to the right therapist for you.
